Return authorization (autorizacion de regreso)
If your TIE has expired or is being renewed and you need to leave Spain and come back, this is the document that lets you re-enter. It is time-critical, which makes the appointment particularly stressful to find.

The timing problem
This procedure has a deadline built into it: your flight. People usually start looking for a slot when the trip is already booked, which is the worst moment to discover the calendar is empty.
